Renewables Talent Shortage Warning
As the South West of the UK was named this week as the location for the nations' first Marine Energy Park, questions have again risen about the shortage of talent within the renewable energy market.
RenewableUKs report "channelling the Energy" estimates 10,000 jobs will be created by the wave and tidal energy generation sector alone by 2020. Yet it says "it is thought that the existing skills base will be insufficient to deliver the industry growth needed".
Speaking to Recruiter, David Green, director of the Renewables Training Network feels that "entrants with strong mechanical and electrical engineering backgrounds, along with other relevant cross-sector skills will be well placed to move into the market."
If you are experiencing challenges with recruiting specialist renewables staff our Engineering & Power Division has specific expertise in your market and can use that knowledge to assist you effectively. We work with extensive networks of professionals with the relevant skills and experience.
