The Challenge

Following an initial partnership, two managerial positions were identified: a Data Manager and an Integration Manager. While the Data Manager role was filled smoothly, the Integration Manager proved much harder to secure due to niche ERP experience and specific manufacturing industry knowledge.

After making a successful selection, unforeseen circumstances led the consultant to withdraw before starting, leaving the client’s IT roadmap temporarily on hold and in urgent need of a replacement.

 

The Solution

As soon as the withdrawal occurred, we acted immediately. Within 48 hours, we launched a new search, leveraging our full network and conducting targeted outreach to identify fresh candidates.

Two interviews were arranged almost immediately, one of which led to a successful placement. The new consultant began in September and has since performed strongly in the role.

 

The Result

This experience underscored the importance of rigorous pre-screening and proactive risk management. By asking the right questions early and anticipating potential setbacks, we can protect both our partners and candidates from delays.

The lesson was clear: success comes not just from filling a role, but from turning over every stone to ensure the right long-term fit.
