PaaS Solution Architect

Location: Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday/Thursday)
Availability: 36-40 hours a week
Start date: Ideally September
Duration: 6-12 months

As a PaaS Solution Architect, you will focus on the platform layer and help shape a broad Platform-as-a-Service landscape. You will translate business and technical requirements into high-level solution designs, support the development of new platform building blocks, and help improve existing components where architecture or documentation needs further development.

You will work closely with platform engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external suppliers to ensure that platform solutions are scalable, practical, and aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Creating high-level solution designs for a diverse PaaS environment
• Translating business requirements into scalable platform solutions
• Supporting platform teams in designing and developing new building blocks
• Improving existing platform components, particularly where documentation or architecture needs to be strengthened
• Working across areas such as databases, integration, CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and business applications
• Collaborating with development and engineering teams throughout the design and implementation process
• Supporting supplier selection, procurement discussions, and technical evaluations when required
• Applying a broad technical perspective to complex platform challenges
• Creating and maintaining architecture documentation, including C4 models where applicable

Requirements:

• Strong technical background, ideally gained through software development, platform engineering, database engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Broad knowledge of PaaS technologies and modern application platforms
• Experience with several of the following areas: databases, CI/CD, integration, monitoring, process automation, Power Platform, Mendix, business rule engines, or RPA
• Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Camunda, Apache Camel, Splunk, CyberArk, or similar platform and security solutions is an advantage
• Ability to understand complex technical landscapes and translate them into clear, high-level designs.
• Experience with C4 modelling is an advantage.
• English-speaking.
• Experience with TOGAF, ArchiMate, or UML is not required
