Senior Requirements Engineer / Solution Analyst

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Requirements Engineer / Solution Analyst to join a dynamic Scrum team focused on the advancement of a comprehensive software platform with complex business processes in Noord Holland. This role goes beyond traditional business analysis by actively building functional solutions-translating complex processes into clear, actionable requirements, business rules, flows, and specifications that empower development teams to deliver effectively.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business challenges into clear and detailed functional requirements.
• Elaborate processes, business rules, data objects, and functional dependencies.
• Convert high-level features into concrete specifications and scenarios.
• Engage with or deepen expertise in Specification by Example, BDD (Behavior Driven Development), and ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development).
• Functionally validate that delivered solutions align with described requirements and flows.
• Define features, modifications, and change requests collaboratively within a Scrum team.
• Work closely with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
• Contribute to the evolution of specification methods and support colleagues in adopting new practices.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a Requirements Engineer, Functional Analyst, Solution Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst.
• Strong skills in requirements engineering and functional process modeling.
• Proven ability to distill complex subject matter into concrete and unambiguous specifications.
• Experience with Specification by Example, BDD, and/or ATDD is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of business processes, business rules, and data modeling.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
• Functional expertise with the ability to liaise effectively with development teams without engaging in technical implementation or coding.
• Passionate about knowledge sharing and guiding others through new workflows.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborate daily with a diverse Scrum team including developers, testers, and product owners.
• Analyze and refine functional requirements derived from evolving business needs.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement, and review sessions.
• Utilize Specification by Example, BDD, or ATDD techniques to create executable specifications.
• Facilitate functional testing and validation to ensure quality and alignment.
• Mentor team members and champion best practices for requirements engineering.
• Engage in continuous learning and improvement to support team growth and innovation.
