Job Description: SOC Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SOC Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team supporting an end client. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in continuous security monitoring, incident response, and threat detection to protect the client's digital assets. Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor security events across diverse platforms and environments to detect and respond to threats promptly.
  • Analyze security event data to identify potential incidents and escalate accordingly.
  • Develop, optimize, and fine-tune SPL queries to improve detection accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in detection engineering initiatives to enhance security monitoring capabilities.
  • Conduct vulnerability management activities, including identification, assessment, and remediation tracking.
  • Perform threat hunting exercises using cyber threat intelligence to proactively uncover hidden threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support incident investigation and response efforts.
  • Document security incidents and prepare detailed reports to inform stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in security monitoring, incident detection, and response.
  • Strong knowledge of detection engineering principles and vulnerability management processes.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SPL queries or equivalent security analytics languages.
  • Experience with cyber threat intelligence and threat hunting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are a plus but not mandatory.
