Data Scientist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Data Scientist to join a prominent Dutch public-sector organisation. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Python, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI to transform large volumes of unstructured service and support data into clear, structured, and actionable insights. Responsibilities

• Prepare and structure extensive sets of unstructured textual data for analysis.
• Develop and implement analyses using Python, NLP techniques, and machine learning models.
• Explore innovative and practical applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI to enhance data understanding.
• Identify recurring patterns, trends, and potential root causes within operational data.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for operational improvement.
• Independently investigate various approaches and solutions to complex problems.
• Collaborate closely with technical specialists and operational stakeholders to ensure insights align with organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in Data Science or Data Engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Proven experience analysing complex, large-scale datasets.
• Demonstrated expertise in NLP, text analytics, or text mining.
• Solid knowledge of LLMs and Generative AI technologies.
• Previous experience within Dutch government or other public-sector organisations is highly desirable.
• Investigative mindset with the ability to work independently without predefined solutions.
• Professional fluency in Dutch (written and spoken).
• Experience with IT service data, incident data, or operational support environments is a strong advantage.
