I'm supporting an international engineering and project organisation looking to strengthen its Contract Management capability in Germany.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager who enjoys taking genuine ownership of projects rather than operating purely at a high-level Commercial or Legal level.
You'll work alongside Project Directors across an international portfolio of Energy-from-Waste, Renewable Gas and developing German projects, taking ownership of the contractual side of project delivery.
The role will include:
* Contract Management throughout project execution
* Claims, change and contractual entitlement
* Customer, supplier and subcontractor interfaces
* Delay, variation and performance-related issues
* Contractual notices and correspondence
* Identifying and mitigating contractual risk
* Supporting Project Directors with contractual strategy
* Working across projects at different stages of execution
* Supporting the development of Contract Management capability for future German projects
We're looking for someone who:
* Has strong Contract & Claims Management experience
* Comes from an EPC / engineering / construction / major projects environment
* Is comfortable getting into the detail of live project issues
* Can operate independently alongside Project Management
* Has experience managing customer and subcontractor contractual matters
* Combines strong contractual knowledge with commercial judgement
* Is fluent in German and English
The position is expected to be predominantly remote-based from Germany, with project/client travel depending on project requirements.
The particularly interesting aspect of this opportunity is the longer-term potential: as the company's German project portfolio develops, the successful individual can become an important part of its German Contract Management capability while continuing to gain exposure to international projects.
