I'm supporting the development of a major green industrial project in the South of France and looking to speak with experienced Construction Lawyers with strong hands-on drafting and negotiation experience.
This is not a traditional advisory Legal position.
The successful individual will work closely with the project and technical teams, taking an active role in drafting and negotiating the construction and EPC agreements required to deliver a major new industrial facility.
The role will include:
* Drafting and negotiating EPC and construction agreements
* Negotiating directly with major international contractors
* Supporting multiple construction, equipment and technology packages
* Translating technical requirements into robust contractual agreements
* Incorporating lender requirements into project contracts
* Ensuring key agreements are structured to support project financing and bankability
* Managing contractual risk across major project packages
* Working closely with engineering, technical, finance and project stakeholders
* Leading challenging commercial and contractual negotiations
We're particularly interested in lawyers who can demonstrate:
* Significant Construction Law / major projects experience
* Genuine hands-on contract drafting capability
* EPC / construction agreement experience
* Experience negotiating with major construction or engineering contractors
* Understanding of project finance and lender requirements
* Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
* Confidence operating directly with technical and project teams
* Ability to independently drive complex contractual negotiations
French-law experience would be highly relevant. International construction lawyers with other relevant European legal backgrounds may also be considered depending on experience.
Location is important.
The project requires close interaction with the technical and project teams in the South of France, so this is not intended to be a predominantly remote position. Candidates currently based elsewhere in France, including Paris, should therefore be comfortable spending significant time with the project team.
Both permanent and consultancy/contract arrangements may be considered.
