ASCEND-ing in Cologne!

An extension of our ASCEND 1st anniversary celebrations, female colleagues across the business have been enjoying the opportunity to network and socialise informally with our first ever ASCEND social events. Cologne kicked off proceedings mid-week at a local Italian restaurant with an evening of great food, conversation and a LOT Of laughter!

ASCEND is a core part of our extensive internal Diversity and Inclusion program. It is designed to help attract, retain and progress more women within the Amoria Bond Group through peer-networking, connection with senior role models, internal mentoring, and expert-led training and coaching.

ASCEND is unique within our industry. Our social events offer our female employees an additional opportunity to get to know each other more informally outside the usual work environment to build and deepen relationships… and that's precisely what they did in Cologne! As Basma commented to her DR the next day, "I have not laughed so much for a long time!"

The event was such a huge success; a date was immediately scheduled for the next Cologne ASCEND social! Huge thanks to Training Specialist Rena Bahadori, who's one of our Inclusion Advocates, for organising this launch event and facilitating such a great evening.

We are proud of the impact ASCEND has had in our business and the progress we have made - with females representing 45% of all new hires in 2021 and the recent appointment of Fiona Gleeson as new our new FD, women half of our Exec-Board is now female. We don't pretend to be perfect, and we know we still have work to do. But, we are fully committed as one of a small minority of recruitment consultancies with initiatives specifically designed for female employees. We continue to invest to ensure that everyone at Amoria Bond can achieve their full potential regardless of our backgrounds or differences.

ASCEND is just one of the initiatives we offer to ensure that our female colleagues are supported regardless of their seniority, position or role. We also host regular Lean-In events, which provide opportunities for small discussion groups, peer-to-peer support, sharing of ideas and best practise.

Friday 24th September sees our next ASCEND virtual meeting, which is open to all employees – regardless of gender – where we will be hosting a Q&A with Fiona Gleeson, followed by our Manchester ASCEND social event. So keep an eye on @amoriabond on Instagram for updates on what's set to be another great event!
