We were delighted to celebrate ASCEND’s 1 year anniversary by hosting Felicity Wingrove for a
masterclass in Empowering Communication!
Felicity is Founder and MD of Zen Communications, a
leading psycholinguist specialising in behavioural psychology, NLP, and
persuasion and influence, and a recognised authority on the power of language,
communications mastery, and ethical persuasion.
Communication can be a minefield at the best of times,
but for many women it's tougher still. We're carrying baggage that we may not
even consciously be aware of, and encountering bias that may not be
intentional. Joined by women from across our international offices, Felicity
led an fantastic and fascinating session and shared insights into some of the unconscious and unintentional ways we communicate, plus practical tools and techniques to empower us all to stand in our
own personal power in every communication.
Since ASCEND was first launched in July 2020 we have been
on quite a journey and during the session we reflected on the positive impact the
business has made in driving gender diversity - women represent 45% of new
hires and promotions this year so far, including two of ASCEND’s co-founders:
Natasha Crump became the second female appointed to our Executive Board as ESG
Director, and Amy Steel was recently promoted to Sales Director.
We always share recent progression stories and successes,
and July’s roll-call was another brilliant celebration of personal and professional
achievements as our ASCEND-ers continue to progress their lives and careers at
We’re committed to making sure that ASCEND is inclusive, relevant and
adds value for all the women in our business as we know that we are all different. One of the ways we do that is
through multi-channel mentoring which is essentially a blend of pre-bookable
121 slots, monthly group Lean-In sessions, and quarterly speed mentoring
sessions focused on different themes and topics. Female recruiters who’ve been
with the business less than 12 months recently attended our first ever
speed-mentoring session which was hosted by more experienced and tenured
colleagues and the feedback has been really positive from attendees!
We recognise the value of having access to inspirational
role models and external experts, and have lined up some great guests for ASCEND
over the coming months, including Exec Coach, Nicky Lowe, who hosts the Wisdom
For Working Mums podcast. Nicky will be joining us in September for our next
ASCEND Presents session so watch this space!
We are really exited about our plans for the future as we continue to strive to attract, retain and progress more women in Amoria Bond and across Techology and Advanced Engineering! To find out more about ASCEND contact our ESG Director ad Co-Founder of ASCEND, Natasha Crump.
